Welcome Lisa Haines to the crown jewel of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, the original Magic Kingdom — Disneyland. Lisa will be taking on the role of Vice President of Communications for The Disneyland Resort. That means media relations, cast member and guest communications come under her watch.
Haines is a relative newcomer to the Walt Disney Company joining the cast in 2004. So, if she hasn’t already, I hope she’s secured herself copies of these two important books, unfortunately both are out of print. First is “The Nickel Tour” by Dave Mumford and Bruce Gordon because you can’t know where you’re going if you don’t know where you’ve been. Second is “A Window On Main Street” by Van Arsdale France because that book, more clearly than anything else in print explains why Disneyland is the success that it is today. When Haines is done with those, I hope she curls up with back issues of The E-Ticket and similar publications.
There are a lot of exciting things happening in the world of new media, social media, and online media. I hope she embraces each of those new tools and the relationships that come with it.
