Michelle Snow is a huge fan of Disney, Marvel, and Star Wars in films and TV, as well as the Disney parks. She's also an award-winning writer who has written several guidebooks on Orlando. Follow her on Twitter @zengrrl. Her blog, CitySurfing Orlando has covered Orlando and the theme parks since 2010. Her favorite rides at the Disney parks are Star Tours, Big Thunder Mountain, and Indiana Jones Adventure, and she may have cried tears of joy when she first saw the Millenium Falcon at Galaxy's Edge. She collects anything to do with Star Wars original trilogy (she saw 1977's "A New Hope" on opening weekend), Snow White, Grumpy, Tinkerbell, and Stitch.

For the eyes – false eyelashes (2 sizes), eye liner, brow liner, and a quad eyeshadow compact.Read More »MAC Cosmetics Releases New Maleficent-Inspired Line
On Friday, May 23, Marvel Studios and director/writer Edgar Wright announced that they had parted ways amicably over the vision of the upcoming Marvel movie “Ant-Man.”
The official release from Marvel reads:
“Marvel and Edgar Wright jointly announced today that the studio and director have parted ways on “Ant-Man” due to differences in their vision of the film. The decision to move on is amicable and does not impact the release date on July 17, 2015. A new director will be announced shortly.”
Dropping news like this, on the eve of a holiday weekend, one can only think the studio wanted the news to not be as noticed, but the fan backlash has already started. Many were excited to see his treatment of the character and are upset he is no longer involved.
I’ll admit, I’m a big fan of Marvel. I’ll also admit that “Captain America: The First Avenger” isn’t one of my favorite Marvel movies.
With the release of “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” however, Marvel not only has another hit on their hands, but firmly entrenches this Avenger as a major force to be reckoned with in the Marvel Universe.
Where the first movie introduced Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) and his superhero alter ego’s origins, this movie takes place in a post-Avengers world. One which Rogers is not only trying to catch up with, but one in which he’s trying to find his place in.
As the movie opens, Captain America is now working for S.H.I.E.L.D., but he’s not totally comfortable with all the grey areas the organization likes to operate in. He has an uneasy working relationship with S.H.I.E.L.D. director Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) and fellow agent Natasha Romanoff (Scarlett Johansson), also known as Black Widow, and he’s highly suspicious of a new agency project that will neutralize potential threats before they happen.Read More »Captain America: The Winter Soldier Shows the Superhero In Fine Form
Star Wars: Rebels is a new animated series from Disney and Lucasfilm, and it creates a new world of stories and characters in the time between the films Star Wars: Episode III and IV.
To introduce viewers to the show, several individual character videos have been released showing the story behind each character and how they will be brought to life on screen.
Among the characters in this series is the street-smart teen hero center of the show, Ezra (voiced by Taylor Gray), who finds out the Force is strong within him:
It is through his relationship with Kanan (voiced by Freddie Prinze, Jr.), a Jedi Survivor and crew member of the Ghost, that Ezra will learn the true nature of his power:Read More »Meet the Characters from Disney’s Upcoming Star Wars: Rebels Animated Series
Disney, Marvel, and Netflix have announced they are collaborating on four new series and one mini-series based on the Defenders characters, which will shoot in New York City.
In a press conference, Bob Iger, Chairman and CEO of The Walt Disney Company, joined NY Governor Andrew M. Cuomo and Marvel’s Chief Creative Officer Joe Quesada, in announcing the groundbreaking new deal, which will bring Marvel’s “flawed heroes of Hell’s Kitchen” characters to Netflix.
The project will focus on the four Defenders characters: Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist. Each character will get 13 one-hour episodes, and then their stories will be merged together into a four-to-eight episode mini-series as The Defenders.
Casting hasn’t been announced, yet, but filming is set to begin in the Summer 2014, with Daredevil being the first to air in 2015. Since the series will air on Netflix, expect all 13 episodes to drop at once for binge-viewing.Read More »Marvel to Film Four New Netflix Shows Based on Defenders Characters in New York City
