“Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour (Taylors Version)” was one of the hottest films to hit theaters in 2023, and now Disney+ has announced it will debut on the streamer with bonus songs not seen before.
The Details
Ok Swifties, make sure to mark your calendars for March 15th, 2024 (DATE CHANGE: March 14th at 6pm PT / 9pm. ET), as that’s when the newly expanded version of “The Eras Tour” film will be available on Disney+.
The release date of the film on Disney+ was announced by Disney CEO Bob Iger on the company’s earnings call, but he didn’t say what the additional songs are. However I’ve heard one of the bonus songs is “Cardigan,” from Swift’s 2020 album “Folklore.”
“Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour” pulled in $261.7 million at the global box office after its Oct. 13 wide theatrical debut, which makes it the highest-grossing concert film to date.
The film was shot at the first three L.A. shows of the superstar’s Eras tour from Aug. 3-5, 2023, and with the bonus songs, it will clock in a little over three hours.
The digital release of “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour” was released on Dec. 13, 2023, by Universal Pictures, and included three bonus songs that were not seen in theaters: “Wildest Dreams,” “The Archer” and “Long Live.” That pushed its official total runtime to 3 hours and 1 minute.
The Trailer
If you didn’t get to see Taylor Swift’s film in the theaters, here is a teaser of what to expect:
Make It A Double Feature
Disney+ is currently home for Swift’s documentary performance film “Folklore: The Long Pond Studio Sessions,” first released in 2020, which is perfect for a double feature with “The Eras Film.”
Swift recently won her 14th Grammy, and announced her new album, “The Tortured Poets Department,” will drop April 19, 2024.
