The Details
Featuring the series’ breakout stars, acclaimed author Rick Riordan, and the creative team, the 50-minute documentary will give viewers an exclusive look at the production of one of television’s hottest new shows.
The documentary follows series stars Walker Scobell, Leah Sava Jeffries and Aryan Simhadri as they step into worlds fit for gods, battle unforgettable creatures, and perform legendary feats, all while staying grounded in real life.
It also shows how having Riordan more involved brings the series closer to the beloved books.
“A Hero’s Journey: The Making of Percy Jackson” is an Evolve Studios production, directed by Joel Edwards and executive produced by Edwards and Daniel Kiedis.

The epic eight-episode “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” which has garnered over 26 million views for its first episode*, will conclude its first season at 6pm PT/9pm ET on January 30, 2024, exclusively on Disney+.
“A Hero’s Journey: The Making of Percy Jackson and the Olympians” will be available on Disney+ to watch immediately after.
The Series
Based on the best-selling book series by author Rick Riordan, “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” follows 12-year old demi-god Percy Jackson (Walker Scobell) who is just coming to terms with his newfound divine powers as the son of Poseidon (Toby Stephens) when the sky god Zeus (Lance Reddick) accuses him of stealing his master lightning bolt.
With help from his friends Grover (Aryan Simhadri) and Annabeth (Leah Sava Jeffries), Percy must embark on an adventure of a lifetime to find it and restore order to Olympus.
Others cast in recurring or guest roles, include Virginia Kull, Glynn Turman, Jason Mantzoukas, Megan Mullally, Timm Sharp, Dior Goodjohn, Olivea Morton, and Charlie Bushnell, along with recent additions like Adam Copeland, Suzanne Cryer, Jessica Parker Kennedy, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Mark Duplass, and Timothy Omundson.
