Disneyland has announced that the Radiator Springs Racers attraction at Disney California Adventure will be closed for nearly a week for standard refurbishment at the end of February 2024.
The Details
Radiator Springs Racers, located inside Cars Land, is scheduled to be closed on Monday, Feb. 26, and reopen to guests on Saturday, March 2.
This is a regular refurbishment and no changes are expected to be made to the attraction.
The Ride
Radiator Springs Racers first opened on June 15, 2012, and has become a fan favorite for visitors to Disney California Adventure.
It is a slot car ride that runs through the desert scenery of the towering Cadillac Range mountains before arriving in Radiator Springs, and features a third-generation version of transport technology originally developed for the Test Track attraction at Epcot in Walt Disney World.
In 2022, the ride has some issues where a ride vehicle started emitting black smoke just before crossing the finish line of the ride. As a result, Disneyland closed it for a short time beginning Memorial Day weekend.
Since then, the attraction has been a must-do for many who race to ride at rope drop.
