The 81st Golden Globes were awarded last night (January 7) and film and TV projects from The Walt Disney Company received 5 wins out of 27 nominations.

These five awards were divided between two projects.

On the film side, recently released “Poor Things” from Searchlight Pictures received two wins, one for Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy (beating out “Barbie”!), and one for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy.

.

And the TV side, FX’s “The Bear,” recently renewed for a third season, won three awards, sweeping Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy and its two lead actor roles.

Surprisingly, even though Disney had two nominees in the Best Motion Picture – Animated category in “Elemental” and “Wish,” both titles were beat out by “The Boy and the Heron” from GKids.

In the past, winners of the Golden Globes were often considered to be front runners for the Oscars, but with its reputation tarnished in recent years, it remains to see if the awards show still carries weight.

Here are the award winners for The Walt Disney Company:

Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy
Poor Things (Searchlight Pictures)

Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy
Emma Stone (Poor Things)

The Bear (FX)
