Walt Disney World has announced that Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park will be closed this week from Thursday, December 28 through Sunday, December 31, 2023, due to the lower tempertures that are expected in Central Florida.
The Details
The water park reopened for the season on November 6, 2023, offering a winter wonderland for guests. However, since it actually is winter here in Florida, it sometimes becomes too cold for the guests to enjoy the park and its water rides safely.
According to weather.com, temperatures are anticipted to drop into the mid-40’s in the mornings, so Disney has decided to shutter the water park for at least those four days.
Disney’s Blizzard Beach is scheduled to reopen on January 01, 2024, but that could change if this cold streak continues into the new year. We’ll keep you posted.
In the meantime, if you feel the need to get wet while it’s this cold, the resort pools will still be open.
As for Disney’s other water park, Typhoon Lagoon is closed for its annual refurbishment.
