The official opening date for “Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana” at EPCOT is still scheduled for October 16, but Walt Disney World has announced the attraction will be in a soft opening phase starting today, October 6, until October 15, 2023.

“Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana” has recently been in preview phases for cast members and annual passholders at EPCOT, but now everyone will have a chance to check out this new water-based attraction.
It will be in a soft open phase, allowing all guests on select days and for select hours to experience the attraction.
Disney also says that during these “surprise-and-delight opportunities,” a virtual queue in the My Disney Experience app may be available for guests in the park to join starting at 9am, when needed.
About the Attraction
“Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana” is a walk-through attraction that will allow guests to explore and engage with water as it travels from our skies to our oceans and back again.
It is inspired by the Walt Disney Animation Studios 2016 animated movie “Moana,” and the title character’s fierce determination to protect her environment, especially with her strong bond with water throughout the story.
It is located in the new World Nature section of the park, the EPCOT neighborhood dedicated to understanding and preserving the beauty and balance of the natural world.
