Disney+ has announced Pixar’s “Elemental” release date on the streamer, which also comes with a making-of documentary and the Pixar short, “Carl’s Date.”
The Details
Viewers won’t have long to wait as the debut date is Wednesday, September 13, 2023.
Joining “Elemental” on Disney+ will be the film’s making-of documentary “Good Chemistry: The Story of Elemental,” which will take viewers behind-the-scenes of the creation of the film.
Also debuting on September 13 is the Pixar short film, “Carl’s Date,” starring the “Up” duo of Carl and his talking dog Dug. Written and directed by Academy Award nominee and Emmy Award winner Bob Peterson and produced by Kim Collins, this all-new short finds Carl reluctantly agreeing to go on a date with a lady friend — but admittedly with no idea how dating works these days. Ever the helpful friend, Dug steps in to calm Carl’s pre-date jitters and offer some tried-and-true tips for making friends — if you’re a dog. “Carl’s Date” opened in theaters in front of “Elemental.”
The physical format releases of “Elemental,” including 4K UHD, Blu-Ray, and DVD, will still be on September 26, 2023. The digital version is already available to purchase.
Disney+ Deal
To kick off the film’s debut on Disney+, new and returning customers can subscribe to Disney+ Basic (with ads) for $1.99/month for three months by visiting DisneyPlus.com through September 20, 2023.
About the Film
“Elemental” takes place in a city where physical embodiments of the four elements – water, land, fire, and air – coexist together.
The story introduces Ember Lumen (voiced by Leah Lewis), a tough, quick-witted, and fiery young woman, whose friendship with a fun, sappy, go-with-the-flow guy named Wade Ripple (voiced by Mamoudou Athie) challenges her beliefs about the world they live in.
The Disney Blog‘s Mike Bastoli called the film “Bright, Bold, & One of Pixar’s Best.”
