Disneyland Resort is hosting a “Disney Junior & Friends Playdate” for families with young ones the weekend of August 18-20, 2023, and we have all the details.
The Playdate
“Disney Junior & Friends Playdate” is a three-day event celebrating the entertaining and music-filled stories of Disney Junior’s many hit series.
It will bring the magic straight to preschoolers and their families at Disney California Adventure park on Friday, August 18, and then over at Downtown Disney District on Saturday, August 19 and Sunday, August 20.
The bulk of the adventures will take place on Friday at Disney California Adventure and will feature:
- Alice’s Wonderland Bakery Unbirthday Party at the Hollywood Backlot Stage
- Disney Junior Live! Playdate, a stage show at the Hollywood Backlot Stage
- Playdate Play Zone, featuring Character experiences – Meet Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck and Daisy Duck, Doc McStuffins, Vampirina, Goofy and Pluto, and Pooh and Tigger.
- Playdate Party Parade
- Disney Junior Dance Party – Dance along with some favorite Junior pals to Disney Junior songs during this high-energy celebration, where kids can rock out, let loose and laugh it up.
- Spidey and His Amazing Friends Photo Opportunity, near the Brownstone in Hollywood Land
- Animation Academy – Learn to draw Yoda and Nubs from Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures.
There will also be specialty food and beverage offerings like:
- Honey Pot Caramel Apple and Tigger Marshmallow Tail treats from Trolley Treats.
- Specialty cotton candy at select outdoor vending locations.
Valid admission and a park reservation for the same date are required to attend this part of the Playdate weekend.
Then on Saturday and Sunday, Downtown Disney District will host Disney Junior-themed happenings like:
- Live Entertainment at the Downtown Disney Live! Stage
- Playdate Play Zone, arts & crafts activities
- Special Photo Opportunities, including a “Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures” photo wall
- Honey Pot Caramel Apple and Tigger Marshmallow Tail treats at Marceline’s Confectionery
