After a lengthy theatrical window, Disney+ has announced that Marvel Studios’ “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” will debut on the streamer in August 2023.
The Details
“Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” debuted in theaters on May 5, but will finally appear on Disney+ in both North America and the U.K. on August 2, 2023.
The film, the last to be directed by James Gunn for Marvel, tells the final story of the Guardians as we know them.
Settling into life on Knowhere (as seen in the “Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special“), a big bad from Rocket’s past shows up. Peter Quill, still reeling from the loss of the original Gamora, must rally his team around him on a dangerous mission to save both Rocket’s life, and, once again, the galaxy.
The film stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldaña, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Sean Gunn, Chukwudi Iwuji, Will Poulter and Maria Bakalova, along with featuring Vin Diesel as Groot, and Bradley Cooper as Rocket.
“Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3” is currently the second highest grossing movie of the year, with a $842.4M worldwide box office total.
The film is available to purchase on digital with bonus features including deleted scenes, a gag reel, and audio commentary by James Gunn.
It will be avialable with those same bonus features on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD on August 1, 2023.
