Work on “Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana” at EPCOT has progressed to the point that water has been added, and Walt Disney Imagineering has released first look photos.
The Water Effects
“Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana” is a walk-through attraction located in the World Nature neighborhood of EPCOT, and it features a lot of water effects that need to be tested to make sure they perform right.
Along with the photos, Imagineering posted:
“As we test and prepare our next attraction to welcome guests later this Fall to World Nature in EPCOT, our Imagineers have begun to teach water how to play in ‘Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana.’
Guests of all ages will engage with water in a variety of ways as they learn about water’s amazing “journey” around our natural world, including ways to better conserve our natural resources and protect water as it voyages throughout our natural world, connecting us all.
We hope everyone feels inspired to connect with water as a friend, just like Moana did in the film!“
About the Attraction
“Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana” will allow guests to explore and engage with water as it travels from our skies to our oceans and back again.
It is inspired by the Walt Disney Animation Studios 2016 animated movie “Moana,” and the title character’s fierce determination to protect her environment, especially with her strong bond with water throughout the story.
The attraction is scheduled to open at Walt Disney World in late 2023. We’ll let you know when we hear an exact date.
