Next up on the Pixar release slate is “Elio,” and today the studio shared the first look teaser trailer for the film.
Who Is Elio?
First announced at D23 Expo 2022, the film centers on 11-year-old dreamer Elio (voice of Yonas Kibreab), who is artistic, creative, and an avid indoorsman who finds it hard to fit in.
Meanwhile, Mom Olga (voice of America Ferrera), who runs a top-secret military project, is working to decode a strange signal from outer space.
But it’s Elio who makes first contact, gets beamed into space, and is subsequently mistaken for an intergalactic Ambassador for Earth.
Jameela Jamil (“She-Hulk“) and Brad Garrett (“Everyone Loves Raymond”) have joined the film’s voice cast in undisclosed roles.
Annie Award-winning director Adrian Molina (“Coco”) is helming this film, which will be in theaters sometime in Spring 2024.
Bring Us to Your Leader
In the early morning hours, Pixar dropped a teaser for the teaser with this static-filled video saying “Bring Us To Your Leader”:
The Trailer
Then this first look trailer became available, and it not only introduces us to young Elio, but shows us the huge predicament he finds himself in with the aliens.
