On Tuesday, May 30, 2023, fans gathered in Critter Country inside Disneyland to say their final goodbyes to “Splash Mountain,” which was closing to be transformed into a new attraction, “Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.”
“Splash Mountain” has been a popular ride since it first opened on July 17, 1989. It was originally conceived by Imagineer Tony Baxter, who was actually on hand to say his final goodbyes to the attraction along with everyone else.
And as we say good-bye, let’s not forget the classic “Splash Mountain” rap:
Now only one “Splash Mountain” remains, and Tokyo Disney Resort says they have no plans to change the attraction. But Disneyland and Walt Disney World’s versions are no more.
Even though there were huge crowds for the final day of the attraction as we know it, a lot of fans couldn’t be there, so I thought I’d compile some photos and videos from the last day.
Please be patient as it may take a bit to fully load.
