Disney+ has announced the cancellation of two sports-themed series, “Big Shot” and “The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers” after two seasons each.
Big Shot
“Big Shot” starred John Stamos as Marvyn Korn, who is ousted from his position as head coach for an NCAA basketball team. He is then given a chance at redemption with a coaching position at Westbrook, an elite private high school for girls.
The series also starred Jessalyn Gilsig, Sophia Mitri Schloss, Nell Verlaque, Tiana Le, Tisha Custodio, Cricket Wampler, Echeagaray and Yvette Nicole Brown.
It was created by David E. Kelley, Dean Lorey and Brad Garrett, with Lorey serving as showrunner.
Both seasons are available to watch on Disney+.
The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers
This series is a continuation of “The Mighty Ducks” movie series, and season one starred Emilio Estevez reprising his role of Gordon Bombay along with Lauren Graham.
When Estevez left after season one, actor Josh Duhamel took over as the male lead in the character of Gavin Cole, a former NHL player-turned-coach.
The series also stars Brady Noon, Maxwell Simkins, Swayam Bhatia, Luke Islam, Taegen Burns, DJ Watts, and Naveen Paddock.
Both seasons are available to watch on Disney+, along with the movies.
