Shanghai Disney Resort is welcoming Oswald the Lucky Rabbit and Donald Duck for new experiences in 2023, and we have all the details for you.
Oswald the Lucky Rabbit
2023 in the Chinese Zodiac is the Year of the Rabbit, so who better to be a Shanghai Disney ambassador for the event than Oswald the Lucky Rabbit?
As part of the company-wide Disney 100 celebration, Walt’s original character will make his debut next spring, greeting guests and fans from near and far inside the park.
He will join the many other characters Guests can meet at the resort including Mickey and Friends, Marvel Characters, Disney Princesses, and Duffy and Friends.
Donald’s New Restaurant
Also coming in January 2023 to Disneytown at the resort is Donald’s Dine ‘n Delights, a new Disney-themed restaurant that reflects Donald Duck’s enthusiasm for culinary delicacies and hospitality towards his friends and family.
The bistro will feature seasonally-inspired Western cuisine with Asian touches, such as freshly baked specialty pizza made by the in-house pizza chef, over-the-top milkshakes and rich sundaes in a variety of flavors, and whimsical desserts.
The exterior features a domed building of glass and brass highlights shaded by beautiful trees in a charming, Parisian-style garden setting.
Inside, the decor continues the garden motif, with a ceiling mural, and a combination of tables and booths for Guests to enjoy their meal. Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, Daisy, Chip & Dale, and even Donald’s nephews Huey, Dewey and Louie will make appearances in the art throughout the restaurant.
In talking about what’s coming to the resort, Joe Schott, President and General Manager, Shanghai Disney Resort said in a press release, “As we step into 2023, we are extremely excited to welcome more guests from across the country and hopefully around the world back to our resort. We can’t wait to show you the new range of spectacular events and experiences in the year to come.”
