Blizzard Beach Water Park at Walt Disney World to Reopen November 2022

Blizzard Beach Water Park

Walt Disney World will soon reeopen its fan-favorite Blizzard Beach water park after a lengthy renovation that included adding a “Frozen” touch.

The Details

Mark your calendars for November 13, 2022, as the date families can once again enjoy the offerings of the water park themed to a winter wonderland.

The park has been closed since January, and as part of the renovations, Blizzard Beach will offer a new lift for transporting the tubes to the top of Runoff Rapids.

Guests can also savor brand new bites like Cajun Shrimp and Grits, and sip on new beverage options like a Watta-Melon Passion Lemonade from Lottawatta Lounge. Returning favorite flavors include seasonal DOLE Whip offerings, a Double Bacon Cheeseburger, and the iconic 50th Ice Dream Sand Pail Sundae.

The new “Frozen” addition will be part of the kid-sized thrills of Tike’s Peak, featuring statuettes of Olaf and his Snowgie pals in the warm wading pool, as well as Anna and Elsa’s igloo castle.

Holiday Fun

Through December 31, 2022, Blizzard Beach will have limited-time holiday offerings, as well.

These include a daily snowfall, holiday music, festive inner tubes, and even a tropical-dressed Santa.

Plus there will be seasonal food and beverage to enjoy such as an Orange Bird DOLE Whip cone and Peppermint Milkshake.

Say Good-Night to Typhoon Lagoon

As is typical, when one Walt Disney World water park opens, the other closes for its refurbishment.

Typhoon Lagoon, which opened for the season on January 2, will have its last day of operation on November 12 before closing November 13 for an unspecified time.

  1. Not excited at all. Our family prefers Typhoon over Blizzard. After being closed for 2 entire years, they should have kept Typhoon open for at least a full year, and done refurbishments there in January/February instead of November/December!
