It’s that time of year when Halloween is being celebrated at the Disney Parks, and today we’re taking a look at the festivities at Hong Kong Disneyland.
Through October 31, 2022, Guests are invited to take up the challenge to “Show Your Wicked Side,” and are invited to dress up in outfits inspired by Disney Villains to show off their inner wicked side.
Here are some of the highlights of the Hong Kong Disneyland Halloween celebrations:
“Let’s Get Wicked”
The Theater in the Wild will get even wilder this year with the “Let’s Get Wicked” musical.
Cruella de Vil has decided to leave her wicked pack to dominate the “Wicked Fun Party Zone,” while Maleficent, the Mistress of Evil from Sleeping Beauty, will be joined by her Dark Fey fairies to take control of the stage through music. Her dark powers will engulf everything in projections of black thorns.
Not to be outdone, Ursula the sea witch, Dr. Facilier, Gaston, and Mother Gothel will perform for guests, singing and dancing to many songs with new musical elements.
And that’s not all…in another first, the musical will feature an all-new sign language element matched with body movements so that all are included in the spooky fun.
Wicked Fun Party Zone
Cruella de Vil, the fashion queen, has gone barking mad. Weary of sharing the spotlight on Halloween, she casts her pack aside and rules over the “Wicked Fun Party Zone” this year.
The Pavilion gates will feature a fashion show-like runway, a DJ, appointed by Cruella, will play devilish music as cool lighting effects and enchanting fog create an eerie vibe. Cruella will make her debut as a singer as she belts out the song “Cruella de Vil.”
Guests can also pledge their allegiance to Maleficent or the Evil Queen from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs by venturing deep into their lair. It’s where exclusive interactive photo locations for guests to snap memorable shots in Adventureland are also available.
Character Appearances
Disney Villains take over for more Character Appearance moments. Lady Tremaine, the evil stepmother from Cinderella, and her two daughters, Anastasia and Drizella, will make their first appearance in Hong Kong Disneyland this year.
Loki, the God of Mischief, has also returned to his old tricks. He will be making a surprise appearance for some mischievous snaps in Adventureland. Guests can also take photos with Captain Hook from Peter Pan and Hades from Hercules there.
Duffy and Friends will appear alongside their newest friend, LinaBell, in their Halloween outfits at My Journeys with Duffy shop.
Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Goofy, Pluto and Chip ‘n’ Dale will also be dressing up in their Halloween costumes to greet guests at “Halloween Time Festival Gardens” in Fantasyland.
Winnie the Pooh and Friends will also pose in their Halloween outfits.
Jack Skellington’s The Nightmare Before Dinner
Having stayed hungry for a whole year, the Pumpkin King, Jack Skellington, has reserved the entire River View Cafe to share authentic Halloween flavors with guests in the shadow of Halloween Town.
Immerse yourself in this classic Halloween story while enjoying a frightfully delicious four-course dinner with exclusive special appearances from Jack, Sally, and Oogie Boogie.
Priority access at the “Let’s Get Wicked” show will be arranged for all “Jack Skellington’s The Nightmare Before Dinner” guests who book online in advance.
Mickey’s Halloween Time Street Party
Join “Mickey’s Halloween Time Street Party” and dance with Mickey and Friends as well as the mystery-solving fox LinaBell, Duffy’s newest friend.
Halloween music fills the air as beloved Disney pals appear in the procession atop a giant jack-o’-lantern whirlies, right alongside parade performers, Vampirina and Princess Sofia.
