Fans of National Geographic’s “Magic of Disney’s Animal Kingdom” will be happy to know the nature series has been renewed for season two.
About the Show
The series debuted its first season in September 2020 on Disney+, giving viewers an all-access pass to explore the magic of nature within Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, and The Seas with Nemo & Friends at EPCOT.
Narrated by the award-winning fan-favorite Josh Gad (“Frozen,” “Frozen II”), the eight-episode first season of the docu-series highlighted some of the more than 300 species and 5,000-plus animals as it showed the herculean tasks their animal care experts undertake to keep things running day and night.
What to Expect
Dr. Mark Penning, Vice President, Animals, Science and Environment, Disney Parks, gave a peek at what to expect in season two of the show.
“We can’t wait to update you on some of your favorite stars from season one along with stories that inspire connections with the wonders of the world around us.
We’ll also share some new faces that are sure to warm your heart like Lily, her calves Aella and Humphry, and other members of the Masai giraffe family on Kilimanjaro Safaris.
All Masai giraffe births at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park are part of the Species Survival Plan overseen by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums to ensure the responsible breeding of threatened and endangered species in managed care.”
When to Watch
While the season two announcement was just made this month, fans will have to be patient while they put the season together. We weren’t given a debut date for the new season, but as soon as we hear something, we’ll let you know.
In the meantime, here is Dr. Penning with a fun announcement video:
