Drury Plaza Hotel Orlando is getting ready to make magical memories for guests at its first hotel at Walt Disney World, and Drury’s fourth hotel in Florida.
An official Walt Disney World partner hotel in the Disney Springs Resort Area, the Drury is an extensive remodel and expansion of the former Best Western hotel. They completely gutted the original tower and more than doubled the number of rooms with a new tower.
“We look forward to welcoming guests and providing them with a magical experience,” said Chuck Drury, CEO of Drury Hotels. “Our designation as an Official Walt Disney World Hotel means we have been entrusted to adhere to exceptional service standards.”
“Given our track record of providing award-winning guest service, I know our team’s efforts will delight and impress our guests and visitors,” Drury said.
It’s always big news when a new hotel opens at Walt Disney World. We expect that the Drury will offer all the modern comforts you expect from a hotel at a great location.
It may not have the Disney Imagineer level theming, but not every vacationing family wants or needs that.
Tom Drury, a seven-year veteran in the hotel and hospitality industry, has been named the hotel’s general manager. Drury team member, John Branciforte, will serve as the hotel director of sales. Once open, the hotel will employ 150 full- and part-time team members.
As you can see by the aerial photo taken last month, progress on the construction is nearing completion. In fact, reservations are now being accepted for October 27, 2022 and beyond.
When finished, the Drury will include 604 rooms and 17,000 square feet of meeting and event space. Which will be a nice addition to the Disney Springs area.
What Amenities will the Drury Plaza Hotel Orlando offer?
The Drury Plaza Hotel Orlando expects to offer a wide suite of complimentary amenities including: hot breakfast, dinnertime snacks and beverages at the 5:30 Kickback reception, WiFi, 24-hour business and fitness centers, and shuttle service to all Walt Disney World Theme Parks & the Disney Springs Area.
It was also announced that, unlike other resorts in the area, the Drury Plaza Hotel will not charge a resort fee. So no need to factor that into your rate comparisons.
In news that will make everyone at The Disney Blog happy, there will be Starbucks Coffee served onsite in the guest Market Place, along with a Pizza Hut Express and two onsite restaurants.
