While the bulk of Walt Disney World’s recent focus has been on the upcoming “Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind” attraction at EPCOT and the “TRON Lightcycle” attraction at Magic Kingdom, they haven’t been ignoring Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and today we have news on several of the shows.
“Disney KiteTails” has received a bit of an update that will be in place by this summer. This vibrant Disney celebration of music, color and kites will now have shorter but more frequent performances throughout the day in the Discovery River Lagoon.
Between “Disney KiteTails” performances, Discovery River will come alive with Character Flotillas featuring characters including Mickey and friends, Timon, Rafiki and Pocahontas. The sailings will take place several times a day, as well.
Fans of “Festival of the Lion King” will be happy to hear the Tumble Monkeys will be back to their acrobatic hijinks this summer, along with the show’s iconic birds soaring above the stage.

And, most exciting to me, Disney says an updated “Finding Nemo: The Big Blue… and Beyond” will be returning to Disney’s Animal Kingdom in the coming months. As soon as we hear an reopening date, we’ll let you know.
It sounds like a summer of animal-filled Disney fun coming to the park, and I am here for it! How about you?
