Since Walt Disney World’s 50th Celebration kicked off last fall, Disney fans arriving at the Orlando International Airport (OIA) have been able to enjoy 50th Anniversary decorations and photo ops.
Unfortunately the airport started removing those decorations last night (March 25).
According to OIA, the contract with Disney for the decorations in the airport expire at the end of this month, so they’re fulfilling their contractual obligations.
Visitors arriving to Orlando were greeted with several characters on the glass walls of the shuttle area:
The art installations were also found in the terminals, and sprinkled like Pixie Dust into the floors:
And of course the best photo op was sitting inside the tea cup with the 50th Anniversary logo to the side:
I think it was a great way to greet visitors to Orlando, and wish it could have stayed up longer…at least until the end of the celebration at Walt Disney World.
Did you get the chance to see the decorations while they were up? Do you have a favorite photo op with them? Let us know in the comments.
Is there a way I could get a banner? I work at the airport
Hi Dee…you’ll have to ask the airport manager or marketing department. We have no idea what happens to them after they come down.
