One of Magic Kingdom’s favorite parades is returning to Magic Kingdom, as Walt Disney World announces the “Festival of Fantasy” Parade will once again be delighting guests starting March 9, 2022.
That date is no coincidence, as the parade originally made its debut at Magic Kingdom on March 9, 2014.
The “Festival of Fantasy” Parade, complete with its 26-foot-tall fire-breathing Maleficent Dragon float, will present floats representing many of Disney’s most loved characters and movies, including “Tangled,” “The Princess and the Frog,” “Peter Pan” and more.
Josh D’Amaro, Chairperson of Disney Parks, Experiences and Products, first announced the parade would be returning at Destination 23 last November, but this is the first we’ve had an opening date.
This will be the first time the parade has been at Magic Kingdom since March 12, 2020, when the parade gave its final performance before Walt Disney World closed temporarily due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
I am so happy it’s returning as it’s always a highlight of my visit to Magic Kingdom. I always make a point to find a good spot to watch the parade so I can get the castle in the background of my photos. Do you have a favorite spot?
