Fans of Walt Disney World’s water parks will be excited to learn that Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park will reopen to guests on January 2, 2022.
It has been closed since the park-wide pandemic closure in March 2020.
Popular attractions such as Crush ‘n’ Gusher, Miss Adventure Falls, Castaway Creek, Humunga Kowbunga, and the surf pool will be available to guests when the water park opens.
Surf lessons will be available to book as of January 7, 2022.
Guests will also get to enjoy new menu items, including mix-and-match DOLE Whip flavors in mango, pineapple, lime, and raspberry to build your own refreshing treat at the Snack Shack. Adult guests can even add tequila, coconut rum, or dark rum to their DOLE Whips.
50th Anniversary-Inspired menu items will be available for purchase, too, including Walt’s Chili Nachos at Snack Shack, which offer a special twist on one of Walt Disney’s favorite meals, and the EARidescent Ice Dream Cone, a birthday cake-flavored soft-serve treat available at Happy Landings.
Unfortunately, while Typhoon Lagoon is reopening, its sister water park, Disney’s Blizzard Beach, will close at the end of the day on January 1, 2022, for refurbishment. Disney Parks doesn’t give a reopen date but when we hear of one, I’ll let you know.
