ABC will be ringing in the new year with “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve With Ryan Seacrest 2022” starting at 8pm EST/PST on December 31.
This year marks the 50th anniversary of the annual countdown and features performances from Times Square, New Orleans, Los Angeles, and Puerto Rico.
The Times Square hub will be hosted by 17-time host and executive producer Ryan Seacrest with first-time co-host Liza Koshy. Performances will include:
LL COOL J will give a performance of his iconic hits(LL Cool J has pulled out due to COVID)- Journey will also perform some of their many hits
- R&B icons Ashanti and Ja Rule performing a medley of solo hits and their duets (Just Added)
Latin phenom KAROL G performing a hits medley(KAROL G has withdrawn from the schedule)Pop/R&B superstar Chlöe performing her single “Have Mercy”(Chlöe has withdrawn from the schedule)
Actor/singer Billy Porter will co-host from New Orleans and will also perform two songs.
Actress Roselyn Sanchez co-hosts from Puerto Rico, and there will be a performance from reggaeton dynamo Daddy Yankee in his home town.
Finally, five-time NYRE co-host Ciara will be in Los Angeles with DJ D-Nice, featuring performances from:
- AJR and duo Daisy The Great (“BANG!” “Record Player”)
- Avril Lavigne and Travis Barker (“Sk8ter Boi,” “Bite Me”)
- Big Boi with singer Sleepy Brown (“The Way You Move,” “Animalz”)
- Don Omar (“Danza Kuduro”) with Nio Garcia (“Se Menea”)
- French Montana (“FWMGAB,” “Unforgettable”)
- Macklemore and Ryan Lewis (“Can’t Hold Us”) with singer Windser (“Next Year”)
- Måneskin (“Beggin’,” “Mamma Mia”)
- Mae Muller with Polo G (“Better Days”); Polo G (“Rapstar,” “Smooth Criminal”)
- Masked Wolf (“Astronauts in the Ocean,” “Pandemonium”)
- OneRepublic (”Counting Stars,” “Run”)
- Walker Hayes (“Fancy Like,” “AA”)
Also for the first year, the show will feature Rockin’ Eve‘s first Spanish language countdown.
ABC says it is proceeding with Rockin’ Eve 2022 while adhering to CDC/local protocols regarding audience attendees in Times Square. Last year, the special went on with just small pods of first responders in attendance.
