Walt Disney Animation Studios has released information and a first look at concept art for its next release called “Strange World.”
“Strange World” centers on the legendary Clades, a family of explorers whose differences threaten to topple their latest and most crucial mission, one which will take them into an uncharted and treacherous land where fantastical creatures await.
Here’s the art that was released:
Director Don Hall says the story is a nod to pulp magazines, that existed from around the 1900s to the 1950s. They featured popular action fiction stories that were printed on inexpensive wood pulp paper, which is where the genre gets its name.
Hall’s previous credits include “Big Hero 6” and “Raya and the Last Dragon.”
Qui Nguyen, who co-wrote “Raya and the Last Dragon” with Hall, is returning to co-write the screenplay for “Strange World.”
No word on a voice cast yet.
This animated action-adventure film will be WDAS’s 61th title, and is scheduled to debut November 23, 2022.
