The Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is a part of the Disney Vacation Club, and Disney Parks has offered a first look at the new expansion coming to the DVC accommodations.
This expansion will add almost 200 resort studios, but Disney isn’t building a new tower, rather, they’re remodeling one of the existing buildings at the Grand Floridian and making it a DVC property. The remodel will also include enhancements to existing deluxe studios, one- and two-bedroom villas, and three-bedroom grand villas.
The resort studios will feature two queen-size beds and a day bed with room for up to five guests.
Among the enhancements are a new pull-down queen-size bed, along with a pull-down bunk-size bed that folds away to be hidden beneath the media center, in the living room at the one- and two-bedroom villas.
It seems they’re expanding on the idea of pull-down beds as additional sleeping areas, similar to the family suites at Art of Animation resort. I have to say they’re easier to use than sleeper sofas.
Disney says the expansion will open in the summer of 2022. To learn more about The Villas, visit VillasAtGrandFloridian.com.
