EPCOT begins installation of some Flower and Garden Festival elements

EPCOT Flowers Bloom ahead of Flower and Garden Festival

The “Taste of EPCOT Flower and Garden Festival” returns March 3, 2021 and runs through July 5. That’s significantly further into summer than usual, but with capacity reduced, it will give more guests the opportunity to enjoy the popular festival.

We recently dropped by EPCOT to enjoy a rainy morning and the Festival of the Arts (which is still running through February 22). We noticed that some areas of the park were already installing some of the beautiful flowers displays and topiaries the Flower and Garden Festival is famous for.

Here’s a quick video with what we saw:

What to Expect in 2021:

When Walt Disney World shut down for the pandemic in 2020, it was in the middle of the Flower and Garden Festival. Then when EPCOT reopened, the festival was still there with the new name “Taste of EPCOT Flower and Garden Festival” and a slightly reduced list of offerings.

Almost all the popular topiaries were removed, they’re not really meant to survive the summer heat and the food booths had been reduced too. But don’t worry. They’re back in 2021. Disney has announced more than 20 topiary displays will be part of the festival.

Other garden elements include: 100 floating gardens, the butterfly house, tropical rainforest garden with Orchids (my favorite), a Bonsai collection, and a new Prehistoric Garden in Future World East.

Entertainment lineup:

  • Canada Mill Stage – Jammin’ Gardeners
  • America Gardens Theatre – Voices of Liberty, Mariachi Cobre
  • World Showplace – Pianist

Of course, a big reason why the Flower and Garden Festival has grown in popularity is the addition of the Outdoor Kitchens. Disney has already published a list of the food booths but not the menus. Note that these are subject to change.
