If you haven’t visited recently, you may not realize that Walt Disney World has a high end French Patisserie style bakery — Amorette’s Patisserie. Located in Disney Springs, near the World of Disney Store, this month Amorette’s Patisserie is participating in “Celebrate Soulfully!” a new event created to honor Black History Month and Pixar’s newest animated feature “Soul.”
As part of the celebration, Amorette’s Patisserie has baked up two special Petit Cakes for your enjoyment. Just large enough to share with two people these decadent chocolate cakes will satisfy your sweet tooth.
There are two choices, one celebrating Princess Tiana and the other featuring Joe Gardner, the African American jazz musician at the heart of the movie “Soul.”
The Tiana Petit and Soul Petit are both the same cake inside with different decorations. The cake features a layered chocolate chiffon cake with dark chocolate mousse, raspberry pate de fruit, raspberry mousse, and white chocolate crisp pearls.
We were able to sample one as part of a recent media event for Celebrate Soulfully! The advantage of having so many layers is that you’ll find a lot to love about the cake. You may find one layer you don’t really enjoy, as we did, but you can just eat around that.
The petit cakes are priced at $20 each.
