On a recent trip to EPCOT we discovered that a new area of the France pavilion had opened. Of course, we went and checked it out. This is the area where they’re building Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure which will be opening later this year. For now, they’ve opened just a small portion of the new area which includes some new benches and new bathrooms. At around the same time they also closed the bathrooms next door outside the morocco pavilion.
In addition to the above video, we have a few photos you can explore at your leisure.
As you’re headed into the new area you pass under a new arch with a Ratatouille sign on it and a currently blocked sign to the right which looks like it will show the wait time. Look at the top for the first appearance of Chef Remy.
As you progress further in you find new beautiful benches on one side of the path that are the same design as outside the Paris version of the attraction. On the other side you can find some Art Nouveau artwork and new theming on the back of the theatre at the France Pavilion.
We all know that Disney’s Imagineers like to hide Easter eggs in the land for guests to discover as they wander about. There are two we’ve found so far. Look closely at the iron work along the top of the fencing to see a hidden Remy.
Then look up at the street name where you’ll recognize the name of the famed Chef Auguste Gusteau.
There is also new music from Pixar’s Ratatouille that plays as you’re walking by.
At the end of the path you find stroller parking for when Ratatouille opens as well as new bathrooms on the right side. If you’re standing here you can also see the Disney Skyliner passing over your head.
The other side is still a construction wall but it seems like construction progress is getting very close to completion and the area may open soon before the ride. As of right now, there is no official opening date for Ratatouille but you can expect it to open later this year.
We currently do not know what the fate of the Moroccan bathrooms are but they may be coming back after a quick refurb.
A quick look over the fence reveals the entrance to La Creperie de Paris. One of two new eateries coming to the new expansion.
A walk-up window will also be available.
Last, but not least, the new restrooms and water fountain.
We’re still waiting for an official opening date for Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure. But recent signs of activity point to the attraction being very close to ready.
Hey the blog is back! Awesome!
Thank you for reading. We’re ramping up to get back to full speed here soon.
