They say absence makes the heart grow fonder. We’re not sure about that, but we do know we’re really missing the ability to visit our favorite Disney theme parks and experience a few of its world class attractions. But thanks to the magic of the internet, we can watch ride-through videos of our favorite attractions.
It’s not even the same thing we know, but a virtual visit is better than nothing.
This weekend, we’ve lined up five fun and unique on-ride videos from the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World. We selected most of these because they’re a rare experience that not everyone may have had the chance to see.
1 – Extra TERRORestrial Alien Encounter
This is, without doubt, one of the scariest rides ever made by Disney! When this was changed to Stitch’s Great Escape, a lot of the props and animatronics in this attraction were kept and repurposed.
2. Peter Pan’s Flight
Why wait for the long line (when it’s open)! You can ride this ride virtually right now in 4k no less. Okay, this one isn’t that unique, but who can pass up a ride on Peter Pan when there is no wait.
3. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad Firework ride through
Here is a POV ride-through of Big Thunder Mountain Railroad with an explosive surprise. We’ve never managed to line up our ride with the fireworks, so this was fun to see.
4. POTC Halloween overlay 2019
In recent years Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party featured a special overlay of Pirates of the Caribbean where real actors were inserted into the attraction to entertain the guests with ARRRR or two. The 2019 edition added a few new wrinkles to the concept,
5. Christmas Space Mountain
During the 2019 edition of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party Space Mountain received a colorful and trippy Christmas overlay that featured new lights and music.
Note: be aware there are flashing lights, so if that is a problem for you, maybe skip this one.
We loved how many lights they added to the inside of the Space Mountain show building. Definitely a different experience than what the typical day guest gets to see.
We hope this helped feel a little more connected to the Magic Kingdom even if we can’t yet visit in person.
Do you have an attraction at the Magic Kingdom that you’re really looking forward to riding on your next visit?
