Reusable Disney Cloth Face Masks add character when observing health guidelines

Wearing a face mask is the new way of letting others know you care about their health and safety. As Disney prepares to reopen its first theme park and more of its retail and dining locations, Disney fans are sure to want face masks that help them feel a bit more magical as they cover-up for safety.

Disney merchandising is usually pretty quick to answer the demand of fans and has introduced a line of non-medical, reusable cloth face masks featuring favorite Disney, Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars characters for sale on ShopDisney.

“We realize this is a challenging time for families and wearing any type of mask can be daunting,” says Edward Park, senior vice president, Disney store and shopDisney. “Our hope is that Disney’s cloth face masks featuring some of our most beloved characters will provide comfort to the families, fans and communities that are so important to us.”

The cloth face coverings come in bright colors and patterns that represent some of Disney’s most popular franchises: Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Winnie the Pooh, Disney Princesses, Pixar’s Toy Story, Marvel super heroes, and Star Wars.

The face masks also come in three sizes. You can use this handy guide to determine which is right for your face.

Disney’s cloth face masks also align with the FDA’s latest recommendations on non-surgical, non-industrial grade face masks.

“Although social distancing remains one of the most effective measures to slow the spread of the COVID-19 virus, the CDC also recommends that the general public use simple cloth face coverings if out in public,” said Dr. Pat Salber, Editor-in-Chief of The Doctor Weighs In and member of Medshare’s Board of Trustees. “Disney’s cloth face masks can help families apply that recommendation, while helping kids feel less scared and more comfortable.”

Shipping for these masks is expected to begin in June, so pre-order today and, who knows, you might be able to wear them on your first trip to Walt Disney World or Disneyland after they reopen.

As part of the rollout Disney announced that it will donate one million cloth face masks for children and families in underserved and vulnerable communities across the U.S. that will be distributed by MedShare (www.medshare.org). In addition, Disney is contributing $1 million, raised from sharing the profits from the sales of the cloth face masks, directly to MedShare to support the medical community’s ongoing efforts to provide lifesaving care to those in need.

“Disney’s donations will make a tremendous impact in the communities we serve,” says Charles Redding, CEO and president of MedShare. “Their contribution of one million Disney cloth face masks will be provided to families in underserved communities and organizations working to limit the spread of COVID-19, while their monetary donation will be used to support the medical community’s ongoing efforts to provide lifesaving care to those who need it most.”

  1. I am disappointed that Disney’s masks don’t include an optional pocket to insert a filter, if one so desires.
