Subscribers to Disney’s streaming service Disney+ will be able to go into the unknown a lot sooner than expected as Disney announceds “Frozen 2” will head to the service on March 15. That is three months ahead of schedule.
This will be a pleasant surprise for families looking for some fun and joy while facing the challenges of Coronavirus spreading across the US.
“‘Frozen 2’ has captivated audiences around the world through its powerful themes of perseverance and the importance of family, messages that are incredibly relevant during this time, and we are pleased to be able to share this heartwarming story early with our Disney+ subscribers to enjoy at home on any device,” said Bob Chapek, Chief Executive Officer, The Walt Disney Company.
We fully expect to hear “Into the Unknown” and “The Next Right Thing” being sung out the windows of homes and apartments everywhere by the end of next week.
For you international fans, “Frozen 2” will be start streaming on Disney+ in Canada, the Netherlands, Australia and New Zealand on Tuesday, March 17.
In the U.S., the film will initially be available in high definition, with Ultra HD video playback available to all subscribers on Tuesday, March 17.
“Frozen 2” is currently the No. 1 animated movie of all time, passing the first movie to claim the box office throne. Walt Disney Animation Studios and directors Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck certainly found a winning formula in the story of sisterly love between Elsa and Anna.
Disney’s “Frozen 2” follows Elsa, together with Anna, Kristoff, Olaf and Sven, on a remarkable and inspiring journey into the unknown to discover the source of her magical powers and save the kingdom of Arendelle.
“Frozen 2” features the voices of Idina Menzel, Kristen Bell, Jonathan Groff and Josh Gad. They are joined by Sterling K. Brown, Evan Rachel Wood, Alfred Molina, Martha Plimpton, Jason Ritter, Rachel Matthews, and Jeremy Sisto who voice new characters in the movie.
“Frozen 2” joins Disney+’s lineup of blockbuster movies, original content, and classic library titles from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic, and more.
