The slate of original content on Disney+, The Walt Disney Company’s subscription streaming service, will soon expand to include Marvel Studios shows that tie in directly to the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies. The premiere months for two of the first three shows were revealed on a recent earnings call for Disney.
The new Marvel Studios series “The Falcon and The Winter Soldier” and “WandaVision” will premiere on Disney+ in August and December, respectively, and the highly popular series “Star Wars: The Mandalorian,” from Lucasfilm, will return to Disney Plus in October.
“WandaVision” had its release date moved up from 2021 so it can get its entire series released before the debut of Marvel Studios’ sequel to “Doctor Strange,” as the character of Wanda Maximov (Elizabeth Olsen) will be a key part of that movie, but it takes place after the events of the Disney+ streaming series.
