Carnevale is a traditional festival with roots reaching back to 11th century Venice, Italy. Like its younger cousin Mardi Gras, there is an atmosphere of celebration centered around masks, music, and food and one last chance to indulge before Lent. That’s where Maria & Enzo’s Ristorante at Disney Springs comes in. For the second year, they’re celebrating Carnevale with a special menu and plenty of fun.
We were invited to opening night for Carnevale this year. Here’s our report:
“Back by popular demand, we’re thrilled for our guests to dine with us during Carnevale again this year at Maria & Enzo’s. The decorations, entertainment, and authentic Italian food really add to the excitement of this entire experience throughout the month of February at Disney Springs,” said Patina Restaurant Group Marketing Director, Kyle Collins in a statement.
The travel themed atmosphere of Maria & Enzo’ main dining room is elevated to a Carvevale inspired setting. With balloons, streamers, lights, and plenty of masks, the Carnevale theme comes through strong.
We sampled a number of items from the special Carnevale menu and enjoyed a few cocktails created just for the event. Here are a few of the highlights.
A beautiful Caesar Salad made with a traditional anchovy dressing Chicken and Creamy Parmesan Pasta was very flavorful with plenty of sauce Brocolini sauteed in oil with garlic, peeled tomatoes and seasoning. Was tender but not over cooked. A ‘Spicy Dancer’ cocktail. Not too spicy and very tasty. We choose simple desserts. Chocolate Gelato Strawberry Sorbet.
Service was exceptional with extra drinks and bread brought before we asked for it. The server was knowledgeable about the menu and able to suggest which cocktails I might enjoy the most based on my usual drinks. Maria & Enzo’s is on the Disney Dining Plan and Reservations are suggested. You can experience the magic of Carnevale at Maria & Enzo’s yourself through the end of February.
