The former Innoventions West location that was home to select character meet and greets closed last week at EPCOT. Disney has relocated many of the characters to various spots around the park. We stopped by to check out to see what’s new.
Our first encounter was with Goofy who was outside by himself near the Floral Mickey icon in the Future World hub.
Mickey has returned to the queue area of the Disney & Pixar Short Film Festival in the Imagination Pavilion bringing an old set out of mothballs for the fun.
Minnie Mouse can now be found in the World Showcase Gazebo on the Mexico side of the plaza. Daisy Duck was greeting guests on a plot of grass outside the relocated MouseGear in the former Innoventions East building.
Joy from Pixar’s Inside Out has a nice new photo backdrop in the ImageWorks area of the Imagination Pavilion. Like Wreck-it Ralph and Vanellope, she emerges from the internet Link then heads over to her meet and greet spot. Looks like Sadness has been banished, however.
No word if Baymax from Disney’s Big Hero 6 will find a new home in the park.
Since the Disney Skyliner is now regularly delivering more guests to the International Gateway, EPCOT has added Mickey, Minnie, and Goofy for meet and greet opportunities there on a regular basis.
Meeting Disney characters can be a popular a popular activity at Walt Disney World, so prepare for a bit of a wait to see your favorites.
