This summer 2020, guests will be able to explore and team up with Marvel super heroes as the first phase of the Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure opens. The campus represents an Avengers recruiting center, where they hope to find the next generation of super heroes..
In phase one, the Avengers Campus will open with the first Disney ride-through attraction to feature Spider-Man. Guests will enter this attraction at the Worldwide Engineering Brigade – also known as WEB.
During an open house at WEB, aspiring inventors will invite guests along for a test drive of their latest invention: the Web-Slinger vehicle. This new adventure will allow guests to sling webs just like Spider-Man, as they help Spider-Man collect Spider-Bots that have run amok across the campus.
(If you’ve been on the Ninjago attraction at LEGOLAND, then you have the general idea of how the Spider-Man attraction will work. there’s a lot of hand gesturing involved.)
The Avengers Campus will also feature Pym Test Kitchen for some super sized dining. Here, Ant-Man and The Wasp are using their growing and shrinking technology “Pym Particles” to create big and little foods at this eatery.
Throughout the campus, guests will find themselves face-to-face with legendary Super Heroes, in heroic encounters with Ant-Man and The Wasp, Doctor Strange, the Guardians of the Galaxy, Black Panther and his elite guards, the Dora Milaje, Thor and Iron Man. Looks like Doctor Strange might get his own little mystic arts show.
Additionally, guests will get caught up in the middle of incredible action around the Avengers Headquarters, as Super Heroes such as Black Widow and Black Panther battle intruders and save the day.
The iconic Avengers Headquarters building will become the entrance to a new attraction at a later date. It’s believed the attraction will feature a Quinjet ride to Wakanda to join other Avengers for a major battle.
When phase 2 is finished, the core of Disney California Adventure will have changed from its farm inspired theme to one of a high-tech super hero future.

Disney Parks had their first panel at NYCC this year and they talked a bit about the second ride. It starts out a bit like Star Tours but apparently then the seats break off from each other and you have your own individual experience? I’ve got no idea how they’re planning on accomplishing that but I can’t wait to find out- it sounds super cool whatever it winds up being!
