Two Lion Queens unite to celebrate The Lion King. With The Lion King’s 25th anniversary celebration growing every day leading up to the release of the Jon Favreau led remake of the original film this summer, Disney’s parks and Broadway musical are putting on a big show.
There’s no bigger show than Beyoncé who plays Nala in the highly-anticipated remake of the classic The Lion King. She was recently joined by Syndee Winters, Nala in Broadway’s The Lion King, at WACO Theater Center’s Lion King-themed Wearable Art Gala in Los Angeles.
Winters and cast members from the Broadway production of The Lion King sang Nala’s moving “Shadowland” for an audience that also included Jay Z, Blue Ivy, Kelly Rowland, Michelle Williams, Tiffany Haddish, Tyler Perry, Anthony Anderson, and Magic Johnson.
Beyoncé posted a better look at her costume on Instagram.
Disney’s The Lion King movie enters theaters July 19. You can catch any of a number of Broadway musical productions around the world right now.
