The walls are mostly down around Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland, Walt Disney’s original theme park. The park’s centerpiece is emerging from a 4 month long refurbishment and has been enhanced with bold new colors, an extra dose of pixie dust, and a bit more gold than you might be used to in prior incarnations, except for the 50th Anniversary when it was really blinged out.
The castle’s roof needed some TLC and was largely replaced during this process and many of the turrets had their fiber-reinforced plastic replaced. Disney Imagineers downplayed the changes as a simple refreshment.
