Every time we’ve walked by the Japan pavilion in Epcot this year you could see us peeking over the construction wall that hid work on a new table-service restaurant coming to beautiful World Showcase. We now know the name of the restaurant — Takumi-Tei, which means means ‘house of the artisan.’ It promises signature dining inspired by the natural beauty of Japan.
The design of Takumi-Tei will be a celebration of Japanese craftsmanship and how it achieves balance with the natural world. The food will be inspired by the nature and how the artist can adapt it. For instance you will be able to dine in the water room, as seen in this concept art.
Takumi-Tei joins the other restaurants in the Japan pavilion, (including Teppan Edo and Tokyo Dining) all of which are operated by Mitsukoshi USA. It’s expect that the capacity will be relatively low, but the prices will be above average for Epcot.
Among the menu items on the multi-course tasting menu is traditional tea service and wagyu beef. Signature cocktails and premium sake will be available along with a wine and craft beer menu.
Takumi-Tei is expected to open this Summer.
