Disney Springs is about to welcome an all new interactive attraction to its entertainment focused Westside. The NBA Experience is scheduled to open August 12 and tickets have just gone on sale. Guests will get the chance to feel what it is like to be a basketball start from the NBA or WNBA in the attraction’s 13 interactive and hands-on activities.
Disney suggests packing a pair of athletic shoes for your visit as many of the activities involve moving around quite a bit. You’ll also be asked to sign a waiver prior to starting the fun; children under 18 will need a parent or guardian to sign the waiver for them.
I’m curious how big an overlap Disney is expecting between NBA fans and Disney World visitors. I’m confident Disney can pull something like this off and Disney Springs definitely needs more attractions that will help soak up guests. We will wait and see when it opens.
Tickets are priced at $34 (plus tax) for adults (ages 10 and older), and $29 (plus tax) for children (ages 3-9), tickets are available wherever Walt Disney World tickets are sold, including Disneyworld.com/NBAExperience and any Walt Disney World ticket window (inluding the newly opened one at Disney Springs).
The tickets are valid through Dec 31, 2020 and don’t allow for re-entry. Age restrictions may apply. You can preview the waiver at disneyworld.com/expwaiver. If you don’t make it to the NBA Experience before your ticket expires, you can apply it toward the cost of a new ticket at that time.
