While Walt Disney World has My Disney Experience and Fastpass+ that’s a free part of your vacation experience, Disneyland has MaxPass and Fastpass. Fastpass is free and, while MaxPass accelerates your access, it does cost a little extra.
Disney MaxPass allows users of the Disneyland app to have a one-stop shop in the palm of their hand. In addition to seeing attraction wait times and entertainment and character info, it allows you to make a new Fastpass reservation from your phone instead of having to visit the attraction in person.
Prior to this week, Disney MaxPass users did not have access to Fastpass for either “World of Color” at Disney California Adventure or “Fantasmic!” at Disneyland. But now they can also score a Fastpass reservation for those shows.
So should you get MaxPass? For $15 a ticket it’s not a bad deal, especially since it comes with free photopass downloads. But it only last one day and if there won’t be Fastpass available for the attraction you want due to heavy crowds or maintenance, it may not be worth it to you.
