Racers get ready. The green flag will soon fly at Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy, a new attraction at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The opening date is set for March 31, 2019.
The attraction is set inside the Sunset Showcase, which is locate near the Rock-n-Roller Coaster attraction, and features Lightning McQueen and other characters from the popular Pixar Cars franchise.
During the show guests will step up and strap in to become part of the next generation of rookie racers. They’ll learn the rules of the road from Lightning’s years of experience. Along the way they’ll learn the untold story of Lightning McQueen.
We’re told the set up includes a full Lightning McQueen model with animation similar to the cars inside the Radiator Springs attraction over at Disney California Adventure.
Attractions like this that serve the younger set of guests are good for Disney’s Hollywood Studios right now, and will be event more important when Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opens with two attractions that both have height limits.
