A new trip to Flavortown has arrived at Disney Springs. Chef Guy Fieri, in partnership with Robert Earl (founder of Planet Hollywood and Earl of Sandwich), has opened the flagship location of “Chicken Guy,” the first in what is hoped to be a chain of popular locations.
On hand for the dedication were Matt Simon, Vice President of Disney Springs, Lisa Onopa, Director of Operating Participants, and Robert Earl, Founder of Planet Hollywood. Also on hand to help cut the ribbon were Guy Fieri and the big cheese himself – Mickey Mouse.
“Growing up as a fan of all things Disney, I was absolutely stoked to be able to share a stage with Chef Mickey Mouse!,” Fieri said. “My partner, Robert Earl and I, wanted to bring an incredible chicken-forward concept to life and couldn’t be happier to have our first location be at Disney Springs.”
“This is such an exciting day for us, and we are so glad that you all came out and joined us!,” Earl said to the throngs of guests eagerly anticipating the ribbon-cutting ceremony. “Are you all ready to try some amazing chicken?”
After the ribbon cutting Fieri and Earl took some time to pass out sample sizes of chicken tenders.
The idea of “Chicken Guy” is to provide high quality food at a good value. As for price, it does check-in on the more affordable end of the scale at Disney Springs. The focus is on chicken tenders and 22 different sauce choices. It’s a simple menu, but the hope is it will have a big impact leading to more and more locations around the world.
It might be the perfect pairing, The over-the-top cooking style of Chef Guy Fieri and the magical storytelling of Disney Springs. Will try Chicken Guy on your next visit?
