There was a rainbow over Disney Springs last night, which seemed very appropriate as Pride Month, to celebrate diversity and the LGBTQ community, kicks off today. At Walt Disney World, the month begins with Gay Days a fan created event that has become a huge economic driver for central Florida.
While Gay Days is not an official Disney event, Disney World does lend some support the event and, of course, there is merchandise to be purchased. We found a few items on display in Disney Springs’ newest story DisneyStyle.
There is a lot more merchandise out there than this. The lucky ones may even find the rainbow pride Mickey Mouse Ears.
We also received word that one of Disney Springs’ new dining locations, Maria & Enzo’s will be celebrating with a new cocktail. The Rainbow Punch is a refreshing and delightfully vibrant adult beverage made with rum, blue curacao, pineapple juice, orange juice, and grenadine. Garnished with an orange wedge, a slice of pineapple, and a cherry on top. The Rainbow Punch is a tropical oasis for your senses and perfectly suited for the gram.
We’re excited to get out and celebrate diversity during pride month and enjoy sharing our mutual love of all things Disney with our LGBTQ family and friends. A big thanks to Disney for creating some magical opportunities for merchandise and food this year.
I wish they would take the braver step to make it official.
Great stuff! We noticed last month that the rainbow Mickey ears were all sold out. A cast member told us that they severely underestimated the demand for those and they sold out very quickly. Wish we could be there now!
