Disneyland resort guests get your tastebuds ready for some of the most unique, imaginative, and tasty ice cream creations on the planet. Salt & Straw will be opening an outpost at Downtown Disney.
Co-founders and cousins Tyler and Kim Malek created the family run ice cream company with focus on natural organic and sustainable ingredients combined to make taste-provoking flavors in small batches. The company likes to incorporate as many locally sourced ingredients as they can too.
Salt & Straw is expected to open later this year as part of the transformation of Downtown Disney that will eventually lead to a new luxury hotel opening where the AMC theaters and ESPN Club is now.
We had the pleasure of visiting Salt & Straw in Portland, where the company opened its first location, last year. It had a stark exterior, but an interior that would almost fit in on Main Street USA with a general store feel, complete with tin roof tiles.
We took a photo of the flavors available on our visit, which will give you the idea of some of the flavor combinations you can expect when Salt & Straw opens at Disneyland.
Btw, the ice cream was delicious and the flavor combinations seemed unusual but were well thought out and quite tasty. Myself, I tried the Arbequina Olive Oil, which was subtle but still yummy, and the carrot Cake & Hazelnut Praline which was not subtle at all and full of tasty bits of both carrot cake and hazelnut.
Are you excited to try some handmade, delicious ice cream from Salt & Straw when it opens at Downtown Disney in Anaheim?
Are there any more new stores to open this summer at Downtown Disney?
