‘Black Panther’ leaps to $25.2 million at Thursday preview showings

The power of “Black Panther” is already making it self known at the box office. It has brought home an estimated $25.2 million just on Thursday night alone – a February record according to the studio. The Marvel movie could be looking at a 4-day opening weekend take of more than $175 million in the US and Canada.

Add that to an already impressive overseas haul of $47 million and Black Panther could be nearing $500 million world wide in its first 10 days.

Black Panther is looking to become the best February opening beating out “Deadpool” box office of two years ago. It’s already the fourth-best preview gross for any superhero movie. It currently has a 97% score on Rotten Tomatoes which is the top score for Marvel Cinematic Universe movies or its rival studio DC.

Looks like Disney’s box office is off to a great start in 2018.
