Earlier this month The Arena at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex opened with a big ceremony and plans to make sports, dance, and cheer dreams come true for thousands of competitors. Of course, competitors bring with them families to support them. All of them bring appetites, so it’s a good thing the new Arena has a bevy of concessions to fill those hungry tummies.
As someone who has sat through days of competitive dance competitions, I can’t tell you how thankful I’d be to have actual decent food choices for my meals. The Arena will house seven concession stands and 35 carts and kiosks each with new menus and delicious eats.
From classic options like soft pretzels, personal pizzas, and popcorn, to more unique creations like donut-breaded chicken nuggets, pork or chicken tacos, or loaded tater tots topped with cheese, sour cream, bacon and chives, there’s a lot to enjoy.
It wouldn’t be a sports arena without burgers and Disney has both traditional burgers, but also upgrades like the Frita Cubana Burger with a chorizo and beef patty. If you want a sandwich, Disney’s chefs have cooked up a meatball sub or a chicken and waffle sandwich with bacon and chipotle. Sides of fries or tasty tater tots are available.
It’s not Walt Disney World without a few sweet treat options. Traditional choices like churros and milkshakes will be on hand, but we’re also excited for cheesecake push pops and the classic (and vegan) Dole Whip! No need to rush off to the Magic Kingdom or Polynesian Village Resort for a cup of the popular pineapple dessert.
Disney’s ESPN Wide World of Sports complex is also home to a number of other venues each with their own concession set up and there’s the ESPN Wide World of Sports Grill if you want a sit-down experience.
Let us know if you’ve ever included a stop at Walt Disney World’s unofficial fifth gate – ESPN Wide World of Sports on your Disney vacation?
