Get ready to travel to a galaxy far, far away without ever leaving the Caribbean. Your vessel is the Disney Fantasy, the Disney Cruise Line’s top of class cruise ship and you’re destination is the return of the “Star Wars Day at Sea” – a special event only available on select 7-night cruises.
While on their magical cruise, passengers can celebrate the legendary adventures and iconic characters from the Star Wars saga with Jedi, Wookiees, droids, Stormtroopers and others during the special day-long celebration. Highlights include youth activities, character photo opportunities, a “Summon the Force” deck party and Star Wars themed fireworks display featuring John Williams’ iconic music.
Guests are encouraged to come dressed in costume or Disney Bound as their favorite Star Wars characters as part of the special day.
Here are six Star Wars activities families can enjoy on the Disney Fantasy:
Droid Racing. Race BB-Unit droids around an indoor course in the ship’s atrium. If racing isn’t your thing, join the pit-crew and try your hand at droid building.
Porgs Onboard! Scavenger hunt. If you’ve seen Star Wars: The Last Jedi then you know that the adorable Porgs can get into everything. On this sailing you can join in a scavenger hunt to decode secret messages and track them down.
Your whole family will enjoy the Star Wars drawing academy where a Disney artist will teach you how to draw some of your favorite Star Wars characters. If drawing isn’t your think, don’t miss the Star Wars themed trivia and games in the D Lounge.
Like Star Wars events on land, there will be special Star Wars photo opportunities. One of our favorite backdrops is the Han Solo in Carbonite set. Be sure to take a selfie. There will also be opportunities to meet your favorite Star Wars characters as you roam around the ship. We recommend taking advantage of Disney Cruise line’s free reservation system for specific characters you want to have your photo taken with.
Encounter the Dark Side when Darth Vader and his Stormtroopers march into the ship’s atrium for an Imperial takeover. Defeat Kylo Ren in the “Jedi Training Academy” where young Jedi-in-training face off against the Dark Side of the Force.
The Disney Fantasy is also home to the Star Wars: Command Post in the Oceaneer Club, a space specially designed to put young kids. It’s open on every cruise not just these special limited sailings.
“Star Wars Day at Sea” cruises sail now through April 2018. There are still cabins available for this year’s sailings in all classes. If interested, reach out to The Disney Blog’s authorized travel planner for a complimentary quote and personalized booking assistance for your magical cruise.
