In a new mini-feature, the stars of Marvel’s “The Defenders” on Netflix give their own insight into their characters motivations on the show that unites the four superheroes (anti-heroes?) of Hell’s Kitchen. I love that they were able to cast Sigourney Weaver as Alexandra, the head of a very ancient criminal organization. She’ll add some real weight to her role. Also keep your eyes open for Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle, who will soon have his own Marvel series as the Punisher and Elodie Yung as Elektra Natchios, a mysterious figure from Daredevil’s past.
“The Defenders” has always been Disney’s end game here. Unite the fans of all four shows into a larger overall story. The show will premiere on Netflix on August 18, 2017 when you’ll be able to stream all eight episodes of the season. Will you be watching?
